SUAS Tactical Employment Training — A Standard Your Unit Can Run Without Us

Gated stages from first flight to a capstone field exercise, sustainment and counter-UAS tracks, an independent readiness benchmark, and cadre certification so the capability is yours.

A standard, not a course

Units are fielded small unmanned aircraft faster than they are taught to employ them. The result is a crew that can launch, orbit and take pictures, and cannot fly manually when position hold drops out, cannot negotiate an obstacle, cannot work a structure, and cannot produce a usable identification report under time pressure. A unit that has never been measured against a standard does not know what it can do.

The UUAS program is a documented tactical employment standard for small UAS and the instrument that measures a unit against it. It was written at private expense by an operator who has flown the missions, mapped to the Army's airspace doctrine, governed by a formal safety management system, grounded in an open-source adversary study, and then handed to an adversarial review panel with instructions to break it. Classification: unclassified. All threat material is open-source.

What a unit leaves with: a standard, a measurement, its own certified cadre, and a real adversary.

Who it is for

Why this is not operator training

A remote pilot certificate demonstrates airspace knowledge and basic airmanship. It contains no manual-flight, obstacle, structure or identification element. This program does not assume otherwise: every trainee flies a baseline assessment on day one and is sorted by what they can actually do. The flight places the Soldier, not the paperwork.

A certificate covers airspace rules. The program builds and measures everything else a tactical crew is asked to do.

How it is built

A sequential core program with a graded gate between every stage, from first flight to a capstone field exercise under a mission order with multiple crews in adjacent airspace. Extended tracks attach to it: sustainment, so aircraft keep flying when the supply system cannot; employment over water and under incident command; and adversary and counter-UAS work with a live opposing force. The specific standards, criteria and instruments are the product and are furnished under license.

Measured, independently

A unit cannot credibly grade itself against its own standard. The independent readiness benchmark is administered by an outside team and produces a scored statement a commander can hand up and defend. Administered annually, it gives the unit a trend instead of an opinion.

Yours to run

Cadre certification trains and certifies your NCOs and officers to deliver the program on your own drill days with your own Soldiers. The objective is that you do not need us. Certification of operators under the applicable aircrew training manual stays with your appointed master trainer; we certify cadre to run this program.

Safety first, in writing

Every event runs under a commander-signed program risk assessment, a period-level risk assessment, a dedicated safety officer who owns the stop call and does not instruct, crawl-walk-run progression, and a just-culture reporting system. Until the commander signs, the protocol is a proposal.

What this program does not do

  • It does not confer FAA certification and does not substitute for platform qualification under the applicable aircrew training manual.
  • It does not authorize flight outside coordinated airspace.
  • It does not train electronic attack, jamming, spoofing or weaponization. Counter-UAS here means detect, identify, avoid, evade and evaluate.
  • It is not a substitute for a unit SOP. We provide the template; your commander localizes and signs it.

How it is bought

Evaluation license first, sized as a low-dollar fast-award entry point. Then scoping to your cohort, platforms, site and cadre; a first measured cohort; then transfer through cadre certification. Firm-fixed price per objective. See government and defense contracting.
