P10 / Targets
An adversary drone that registers laser-engagement hits and shows its status, so counter-UAS training can be scored and repeated. In development, funded separately, and said so.
When Soldiers engage a drone in training there is usually no reliable way to score the engagement. The Army's own training write-ups identify the lack of laser-engagement compatibility between counter-UAS weapons and target drones as the barrier to realistic force-on-force practice. Without a target that registers a hit, counter-drone training is an academic exercise.
A low-cost instrumented adversary drone that registers laser-engagement hits and indicates its status, so a unit can run scored, repeatable force-on-force counter-drone engagements without live fire. A later phase adds purpose-built expendable aerial targets for live-fire ranges.
This is a developing capability, not a fielded product. It is funded and matured separately from routine operations. We state that plainly because a vendor who names what is not finished is easier to trust than one who does not. The live opposing-force line is available now and does not depend on it.
